Investigators are working to determine the cause of a large apartment fire that broke out early Saturday morning.
Mifflin Township firefighters were dispatched to 305 Vista Drive around 1am Saturday on the report of a fire. When they arrived, heavy flames were coming from a large apartment building that housed four townhome units. Several surrounding fire departments were also dispatched to the second-alarm fire.
According to Mifflin Township Fire Chief Dr. Frederick Kauser, all occupants have been accounted for and no injuries have been reported. Chief Kauser also said it will take investigators about a day or so to be able to determine the cause of the fire because they are not able to enter the structure at this time.
Both adjacent buildings sustained heavy heat damage and those residents were evacuated. A total of six units were damaged in the fire.
The Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced by the fire.
