(WCMH) – A Christian singer who is also a pediatric mental health nurse and a father of six earned this season’s second golden buzzer on America’s Got Talent.

Singer-songwriter Michael Ketterer, of Fountain Valley, California sang a touching rendition of the Bee Gees’ song ‘To Love Somebody.’

“Thank you for gracing this stage. Thank you,” said judge Mel B.

“I think that you have a great voice,” said Heidi Klum. “I am just blown away.”

“I feel like when I watch you and listen to you, I just want to be, you know, a fraction of the human being that I believe that you are,” said Howie Mandel. ” You’re a great performer, and you’re a star human being.”

“Mike, do you know what? When we find singers on these shows, is it about being technical? Or is it about being relevant, you know?” said Simon Cowell. “Sometimes, for me, it’s just about being real and a surprise. If I’m being honest with you, ’cause you were so nervous, I was concerned for you.”

“But I think sometimes, actions speak louder than words,” Simon said, as he hit the golden buzzer.

According to a news release from Influence Church, Ketterer is a part-time worship leader, part-time pediatric nurse, and a full time father.

The Ketterer family consists of Michael, his wife Ivey and their six children, five of whom are adopted from foster care.

“All our kids have come from pretty desperate situations. Through the process of adoption, it has taught us so much about the father’s heart. He is not afraid of our brokenness. It doesn’t matter what we are or what we face, he is going to see us through to the very end,” Ketterer said in the introduction to a music video for his song, Kingdom.

Ketterer is the second recipient of a golden buzzer so far in Season 13 of AGT. Last week, Zurcaroh, an acrobatic dance group earned Tyra Banks’ golden buzzer.

In America’s Got Talent, a golden buzzer automatically passes the performer or performers to the live rounds of the show. Each judge and the host are allowed to press the golden buzzer once over the course of all audition rounds.
