COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) —  Police are investigating a deadly shooting in German Village.  

According to the Columbus Division of Police, just after 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, officers were called to the 600 block of Lazelle Street on the report of a shooting.  

When officers arrived on the scene, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.  

The first victim, a 36-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.  

The second victim, Marcus George, 32, was also taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  

The 36-year-old man told police he was approached by George, who then shot the first man in the leg.  

The first man, a CCW permit holder, then returned fire on George, fatally wounding him. 

No charges have been filed against the first man, and the case has been forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office for review.
