COLUMBUS (WCMH) — People across central Ohio are putting hockey sticks out on their front porch in memory of Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks.
The Blue Jackets announced Monday that Kivlenieks died in a ‘tragic accident.’ Since that news, fans have been posting pictures of hockey sticks on front porches with the hashtag, #SticksOutForKivi.
The NHL also paid tribute to Kivi before game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final Monday.
